ClearyDoyle was delighted to announce the appointment of Tommy Roche as Contracts Manager recently. Tommy has enjoyed a steady progression through the company over the past five years to reach this point in his career.
Speaking about Tommy Roche’s appointment, ClearyDoyle joint managing director Brian Byrne commented, “I am delighted for Tommy. He has worked hard to get where he is. He is an integral part of the ClearyDoyle team and a prime example of what can be achieved when you set a goal and commit to it.”
Tommy Roche initially worked for ClearyDoyle as a plastering subcontractor in 2012.
Following a number of quiet years across the sector, when Brian Byrne called him about a plastering contract in 2018, Tommy explained that although he appreciated the offer, he had gone down the path of project management. This led to another conversation between the two, ultimately resulting in Tommy joining ClearyDoyle on a full-time basis as a site manager in November 2018.
In November 2019, Tommy was promoted to a project manager position, where he oversaw various residential and commercial projects.
His appointment as contracts manager in June last saw him achieve a five-year goal he had set himself when he joined ClearyDoyle, and he is now overseeing a wide variety of project types as well as dealing with key project stakeholders.
Commenting on his appointment, Tommy says that he is delighted to have achieved this milestone in the progression of his career, and he wants to thank the company for the support it has given him to get to this point.
“I had a clear idea of what I wanted to achieve when I joined ClearyDoyle and discussed this with Brian Byrne. Like many in the trades, I left school early, but ClearyDoyle supported me in going to college at the South East Technological University in Waterford, where I got a Degree in Construction Management.”
He continues: “In Wexford, where I am from, the ClearyDoyle company is well known and highly respected, and it was always seen as a good employer across the country. That reputation continues today under the current management team, and it is great for me to play a part in the company’s success.”
